Mike has 20+ years of investment, strategic and operational experience working with technology and business services companies. Prior to Treehouse Adventures, Mike served as the CFO of a 100+ person technology consultancy firm. Mike also served as a Director at Lake Capital, a Chicago-based private equity fund with over $1.3 billion under management. Mike was responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, structuring transactions, managing due diligence, negotiating transactions, and working with portfolio company management teams to execute organic growth strategies, add-on acquisitions, and other strategic growth initiatives. Mike received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Carmen brings her broad range of business and legal skills to the Treehouse team. She was previously at Baker & McKenzie LLP, where she was a partner and chair of the firm's Financial Restructuring Practice Group in North America. She has more than 26 years of experience representing clients in complex commercial, real estate and corporate matters and related litigation in US courts. Carmen has been recognized as being in the Top 100 Women Business Lawyers from 2006-2013.
She also serves as a board member of the Illinois Finance Authority, commissioner on the Great Lakes Commission and trustee on the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.
At Treehouse, Shawn focuses on community outreach, strategic partnerships, team building and project execution. In addition to his role at Treehouse, Shawn works on critical development and construction projects at Clayco; his responsibilities include deal structure, contract negotiations, pre construction planning and construction delivery. Prior to joining Clayco, Shawn launched his first business providing design-build construction services for luxury home owners in Aspen, Colorado. Shawn received his MS in Real Estate Finance & Investment from DePaul University and his B.S. in Construction Science from Clemson University. Shawn Serves on the Auxiliary Board for the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Redmoon Theater.
